PolicyLabDB aims to provide a free and comprehensive API to access South African economic and social data on a wide range of topics. Unlike most similar APIs, PolicyLabDB tries to avoid placing strict usage limits on the API, in order to maximize flexibility for users. In return, we request that you please be considerate in using the API, bearing in mind we are a small, self-funded initiative with limited computing resources. Excessive use of the API may result in users being blocked, and use of the API may be limited during periods of high traffic.

The PolicyLabDB API may be used for commercial purposes by individuals acting in their own capacity, companies employing fewer than five people, non-profit organizations and government entities. The PolicyLabDB API can not be used for commercial purposes by any groups except those listed above. PolicyLab reserves the right to change usage conditions without limitation.
